Apple launches iPhone 4S in Taiwan on Dec 16
As reported, Taiwanese iPhone 4S preorders passed 380,000 Units on December 6, breaking all previous records for iPhones in the country. The number was not unnormal, because iPhone 4S had a over 4 million sale during 5 days after it launched on Oct 4. Maybe its hotter sales partly because of remembering Steve Jobs, and the almighty and flexible functions like professional voice assistant Siri, powerful 8MP camera and optics, much faster iOS 5 and easy-to-use iCloud are the key highlights of iPhone 4S.
As the schedule, iPhone 4S goes on sale in Taiwan at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16. Some iPhone fans started queuing at midnight, and there were scores of people waiting outside outlets before 8:30 a.m., more and more Apple fans and young smartphone users lined in queue with the Apple's latest gadget sale time approaching. According to the analysts predict, Taiwanese will make at least a million sale for iPhone.
All three of Taiwan’s major mobile operators (Taiwan Mobile and Far Eastone and Chunghwa Telecom) are offering Apple’s latest smartphone device and all said that they have received higher than expected preorders for the handset.
Taiwan Mobile Co., the nation's No. 2 telecom service provider, hosted a competition at 8:30 a.m. featuring the phone's voice activated virtual assistant Siri. Whoever was able to make Siri say iPhone at myfone" first would take a new smartphone home for free. Vic Ho, 32, who was only the second person to attempt the challenge, won the phone, valued at over-NT$20,000 (US$659), by politely asking Siri: "Can you repeat after me iPhone at myfone?", he was admired by many iPhone 4S buyers that got the dream iPhone 4S for free.
Further news, China Unicom will finally be able to sell the long-awaited iPhone 4S in mainland China before the end of this month. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued a network permit to China Unicom to sell the Apple latest handset iPhone 4S from this month onward, making it likely that the phone will be available for Christmas. That's fantastic, I can own an iPhone 4S legally and freely.
